Torrens Transit - An Overview
As a member of the Transit
Systems Australia group, Torrens Transit commenced
operations in South Australia in the Adelaide metropolitan
area on 23 April 2000. As one of the successful private
operators to win contracts in the Office of Public
Transport, Department of Transport and Urban Planning
competitive tendering of Adelaide's bus services,
Torrens Transit has quickly established itself as
a flexible, reliable and innovative operator.
Torrens Transit recruited senior management from within
TransAdelaide as their wealth of experience has made
the transition from Government to private ownership
a seamless process. This senior management has then
recruited the remainder of the operating staff employing
only the best of those available. This selection process
has resulted in ownership of the company remaining
in Australian hands and management of the company
remaining within South Australia.
