is 100% Australian Owned.
Founded in late 1995 Transit Systems Australia came
into prominence with the winning of its first tender
in WA and the establishment of Swan
Transit operations in the Midland area. In late
1996 Transit Systems Australia commitment to standards
in service and innovative management style, never
before seen in WA, saw the company awarded two further
contracts in the Southern River and Canning Vale area.
These were quickly followed by the awarding of the
South Armadale and Kalamunda contracts. In 2000 Transit
Systems Australia performance in very competitive
public transport market was a major factor in it being
awarded contracts to operate services in the Adelaide
metropolitan area.
Torrens Transit's achievements
in the East West and Adelaide Free contract areas
have contributed to their success in gaining new contract
areas in April 2005. North South from Gepps Cross
to Happy Valley, and Outer North East from Klemzig
to Golden Grove (O-Bahn), making Torrens Transit the
largest provider of bus services in South Australia.
From humble beginnings
in 1995 Transit Systems Australia has established
itself as one of Australia's most respected bus operators.
The Group's fully trained and experienced workforce
continues to provide innovative solutions to bus planning
problems and expects to continue to do so well into
the future.
